This is a rare vintage Ideal African American Tara 15 doll made in 1976, from the Crissy family, with hair that grows. She was made only one year, and is the only member of the Crissy family to have been made exclusively as an African American doll. She is in very good condition, and is wearing her original yellow and white plaid 2-piece pants suit plus matching yellow shoes.
She has virtually no playwear, and her face is beautiful with good color on her lips and cheeks, and has sleep eyes with full, thick lashes that open and close properly. Her arms will hold a pose at all levels. Her shoes look new with no wear on the bottom. Her clothing is in very good condition (please see photos).
She has her original hair ribbons and her original braids. Marked on the back of her head IDEAL TOY CORP H-250 HONG KONG (these last two words are hard to read) and on the lower back of her torso MADE IN HONG KONG c1970 IDEAL TOY COR GH-15 2M 5169-01. There are some scratches to the left side of HONG KONG on the lower torso (please see photo). This doll has been in storage for decades. Please see all photos for the exact condition of the doll, hair and clothing.
