FREE SHIPPING! Vintage 1967 Maggie Head Kane, African American biscuit doll

Scarce Vintage 1967 porcelain "Biscuit Doll" made by artist Maggie Head Kane and stamped (as her doll stamp appeared) Magge Head Kane. Doll stands approx 13 inches tall.

Kane's dolls are highly collectable. Many of Kane's dolls are unnamed.

One is drawn to the soulful eyes and face of this scarce African American woman collector doll (see more below). The head, hands and feet are porcelain, yet have more a pottery feel. The porcelain is in excellent condition; no chips or cracks.

In addition to Magge Head Kane the back stamp also reads 1967 (c). Not stamped but separately scratched (pre-painting) into the head back is "Billie" - but Billie's identity is unknown. The outer clothing - dress, apron, headdress - are in very good condition. There is some spotting on the undergarment as shown in photos. The cloth body is in very good condition, solid with no wear, rips or tears. Doll stand included; currently the apron is tied in a manner to secure the doll to the stand (easily changed if desired).
