This is an EXTREMELY RARE early 1930s all composition BLACK / African American Patsy Babykin by Effanbee -- the EARLIEST of all composition Patsy Babykin dolls with original mold face, PAINTED SIDE-GLANCING EYES with HEART SHAPED PUPILS, and the infant drawn-up legs that is so hard to find. Hair is in 3 floss braids except the one on top needs to be rebraided. She is petite at about 10 from head to toe and is in Good condition for her age but does need TLC; comes dressed in an untagged(I do not believe its an original w/the zipper) Blue dress, The under dress could be original but this is not tagged. Patsy Baby comes appropriately marked on both the nape of her neck and her back. She does have crazing, paint wear/chips, cracks, Missing toe and her Belly has a crack and previous owner taped it.
She still is just simply Darling! Her facial features are all there, and her lovely dark eyes have the signature EARLY side-glancing hearts for pupils... And a truly fabulous find for the Patsy doll family collector. You can view photos of a Patsy BabyKIN in the Patsy Doll Family Encyclopedia Vol.
Patsy Baby is marked EFFANBEE PATSY on the nape of her neck and EFFANBEE / PATSY BABY on her back.
